The Shopkeeper
Proviant is guided by Jacques, who calls the Cape Winelands home. Life here is surrounded by generosity — from the rich heritage of Cape Town’s streets to the golden fields that stretch out around Philadelphia. It’s a place where history and beauty meet in simple pleasures, and where hospitality is part of daily life.
Summer nights are often spent under a tree, a table set for two with crystal glasses, willow-pattern plates, and soft linen napkins. The taste of Jacques’ perske snipper konfyt on fresh sourdough with thick butter is a memory that lingers, just like tea sipped on his aunt’s stoep, overlooking the quiet slopes of the Franschhoek valley.
